Enhance Cover Image -- NEW Feature Coming to Your LinkedIn Profile
Nov 27, 2024A new LinkedIn feature is rolling out: Enhance Cover Image. I had access to it about an hour ago and it's gone now, which leads me to believe LinkedIn is testing this.
Here's what I know:
- If you have access to it, you'll see "Enhance Cover Image" when you hover over your LinkedIn header. I saw this from the LinkedIn mobile app. I'm not sure yet if it's a mobile-only (app) feature or a desktop feature.
- It appears you can upload multiple images, which auto load.
- It's not clear if you can only see this if you have the feature, or if it's available to everyone. Check out the LinkedIn profile for Sarah Burgess as an example. You may or may not see it: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahburgess/
- It isn't clear to see you can click to see multiple images. I have an idea on how to promote this WHEN I get access again. Check out my profile for more details: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendameller/

Note from Brenda: this page title is "Custom image background photo | LinkedIn help" but it is currently referring to the image library created by LinkedIn. This page was last updated a month ago, and a note was added "Currently, this feature is only available to LinkedIn members in the USA.
- Per Sarah Burgess: this is Premium-only feature. It's not clear yet if it's ANY Premium (Career, Business, Sales Navigator) or if it's a certain level of Premium.
- Per Mindy Stern: I can have up to 5 pictures. They rotate on their own. No clicking is necessary. Premium only for now.
- Per Kevin D Turner:
✅ The gold (Enhance Cover Image) button on the banner is temporary. Once its gone doesn't mean the feature is gone. I can be found behind the (+) in image edit. See GIF
✅ The 3 rollout wave levels
1. those who can see it , have it,
2. those who can see it, don't have it yet, but are next,
3. those who can't see it, don't have it rolled out to them yet.
This is typical of Profile based new features.
✅ you can add up to 20 images, See gift for one that has 5 images.
✅ You can only see the Help pages after the feature rolls out to you.
